Data Transfer Server

Almaak, which runs the Solaris operating system, is one of the fileservers for the HPC Linux cluster. Because all of Almaak’s file systems are local and not NFS-mounted, we recommend that you transfer any data required for computation on the cluster through Almaak in order to significantly improve throughput and performance.

Please keep in mind that Almaak is a shared resource. If you launch too many processes and these processes negatively impact either the data transfer server or the shared file system, your processes will be terminated.

Instructions for transferring your data to Almaak using scp or sftp can be found on the Secure File Transfer Overview page on the ITS website.
